TVOD, (The new event series organized by Surface Tension's Jason Polastri and Nihar), debuts our first event at F8 1192 Folsom for a lineup that we couldn't be more excited about. Late December is one of our favorite times of the year in the bay, and we want to take this opportunity to share a night of cutting edge dance music from several emerging artists we can't get enough of.

Ghorba is well known in LA as Creator the event series FM+, co-creator of the co-learning space, FeM Synth Lab, as well as 1/2 of the forward-thinking rave duo, DIVORCE. Her debut album, "Zero Threat to the Rave", just released on Jacktone Records in November, is an unrelenting, thrilling interpolation of underground dance music painted with a weird and exhilarating palette. FACT magazine listed one of the tracks from the album on their December 2018 list of "must hear house and techno".

Her live sets are known for capturing the same ecstatic late night vibes that this release is made of. We can't wait to host her bay area debut.

FOOZOOL (aka Lara Sarkissian) is a DJ, producer and co-founder of Club Chai in the Bay Area; a music label, radio show, event series and curatorial project. Under the moniker FOOZOOL, she produces forward-thinking club-focused edits, remixes and collaborations, that have been released on labels Salviatek, Nostro Hood System and more. She performed an audiovisual DJ set at MUTEK Festival San Francisco in 2018, and was resident DJ of Roskilde Festival Denmark’s Apollo stage in 2017. FOOZOOL made her Boiler Room TV debut in July 2017, and has contributed guest mixes on Red Bull Radio, Rinse FM, NTS Radio, Hong Kong Community Radio, Radio Wave Prague, Subcity Radio Glasgow, Radio Valencia, FACT and Truants.

FOOZOOL's dj sets are on another level entirely. No one sounds quite like her because her technique and selections have been part and parcel of refining a new global continuum in dance music that her and her collaborator on the Club Chai project, 8ulentina, are at the center of. Pushing CDJs to their limits, blending experimental electronic sounds with Armenian folk vibes and zigzagging through tempos/genres are just some of the ways FOOZOOL has put her own unique spin on the art form. FOOZOOL's Debut EP as Lara Sarkissian, "Disruption" is dropping just a week before the event on December 20th. TVOD is honored to help celebrate that monumental release with a late night set by the artist herself.

Michael Claus and CM-4 ran the Outpost label and event series alongside its co-founder Johnny Igaz (Nackt), who was lost to us in December 2016's Ghost Ship fire. Michael and CM-4 will be holding down the F8 aux room for sets in honor of Johnny's birthday, which was a tradition Johnny himself started years ago. We invite all of Johnny's friends, family, fans and others to join us in celebrating his lasting legacy.
