We gather on a Wednesday night to get down, it is serious business to us. One of the greatest things that visiting artist say about Housepitality is that our crowd is “ready for anything” and they get down. That is why folks love playing here. This is why I often think about unique artists that we’d love to hear “go for it” full pedal to the metal on our crowd. Galcher Lustwerk has been on this list for a long time. Why?
Galcher Lustwerk lives in his own rhythmic universe. His musical movements are elegant and is signature sound patterns don’t dissuade far from the dub rooted holy ghost spirit of that drives him. His build ups come up out of nowhere with relentless jak and crafted use of its elements. His productions hold true to his dj sets. His overall compositions are held together by the same emblematic sensual stamp. It is compressed over all over his lushy polyrythmic layers that he uses to build his underground sound ark. Not to mention his low gravity vocals resembling nobody else dropping his own street scene knowledge influenced by his hip hop background. It’s not only captivating but very easy to get lost in it all.
I read how other music writers have so very creatively described him and I am excited that I just wrote that. I became fascinated with him after the first time I discovered his name on the White Material label.
Basically, Housepitality is getting a true dose of DEEP because this is the only way Galcher Lustwerk operates the sound. By the way, “Lustwerk” totally describes him. It’s quite a cool descriptor for what he produces and plays.
Having said all of that, I, will personally open for Galcher and bringing back. I’m super excited to deliver my fav hand picked pounds on that dance floor. It’s exciting to get to pick tracks for an artist I really enjoy. Trust me, I’m going deep for this one. I can’t wait.
As exciting is the fact that in the lounge we have Ryan Stubbs aka dj/producer DUSEROCK and also aka, a local and internationally recognized artist visual, DUSER. He is unveiling his newest mural in the lounge of F8 on this night. To top off the experience he is baptizing his new mural with the dancer’s sweat as he takes over the dj controls form 11-2am back there. Duserock is a very versatile dj so we are excited about what he will be curating back there. His visual art: https://www.dusermania.com/. His music: https://www.duserock.com/
